The Adopt NI Contact Register is a charity run registry for adoptees and birth family members. Registration may be done online and there is a small fee to record the details.

This is a private register and may not be searched by the public. To gain access you will need to register your details. Once details are registered and a match made, the adoptee will be contacted on the match. The database also includes those separated by foster or residential care.

Unlike some registers, the Adopt NI one is open to all groups of people in the birth family. This includes extended family such as Aunties. Adopt NI also welcomes enquiries from people outside of Northern Ireland including mainland UK and southern Ireland.

The register may also be used to specify that you do not wish for contact of any sort.

Adopt NI also provides a range of other services including tracing, intermediary work, support and counselling. If you believe any of these services would help you in your journey, please contact them directly.
