Operated by Birthlink, the Adoption Contact Register for Scotland is charity run with the goal of reconnecting those separated by adoption.
To be eligible, either the birth, adoption or both must have taken place in Scotland. It is open to those aged 16 and over who are either adopted, a birth mother or father, a relative by birth, or an adoptive parent acting on behalf of a child under the age of 16.
It is a closed registry and not accessible by the public without first registering your own details. A fee is required to register and you will be informed of any matches that occur. In addition to the registration fee, additional funds may be requested should there be a match for the cost of mediation and support.
Office hours are weekdays only, however you can register online through the website at any time.
The Adoption Contact Register for Scotland was established over 30 years ago and has proven itself over time as a trusted means for those wishing to reconnect. It is done in partnership with the Scottish Government
