Free online UK phone directory search by British Telecommunications. BT also provides a free paper copy of the phone book for the region to customers.
There are two online searches. One to find people and one to find businesses.
The online people search is performed by name and town. You may also add a street to narrow down the results. When searching for someones name, it is a good idea to try just an initial for the first name. The vast majority of listings have an initial only so this will increase your chances. i.e. If you are looking for John Smith, search for J Smith or just Smith.
The results will provide a name, address, phone number and a distance from the location you entered.
The business search is either by type of business or name, as well as town. To use this as a way of searching for someone, change the option to name of business. Why we do this is because some business owners use their own names as part of the business. Type the last name of the person, or add an initial, and the region and search.
BT makes available copies of the phone directory books for sale through their online store. These copies cover an area and include both residential and businesses. Each one may be purchased separately and there are over 100 different regions.
