The UK Birth Adoption Register provides a public search for reuniting members of birth families. There are two databases, one for adopted people and one for birth parents and siblings. Both can be searched for free by name and date of birth.

The adopted people search will return all potential matches and results include birth name, date of birth, birth place, adopted when, adopted where and searching for.

The birth parents and siblings search will return relationship, date of birth, birth place, searching for and adopted persons birth place.

If a successful match is found, you will need to contact the administrators and have your details and that of the contact verified. Some evidence or prove of relationship may need to be shown.

To use the UK Birth Adoption Register you must be over 18 years of age. A one off registration fee is required to add details to the database. Online forms are available to submit an entry.
