Help Me Find is a free registry for helping to find biological parents and relatives separated by adoption, foster care or broken families. The register has over 9000 members listed and searching for others.

This is a free volunteer run service that was established in 2005 as a not for profit community company. The register is public and can be openly searched, however contact can not be made directly. Note that after registration, it can take up to a week for your profile to go public.

How to Search

A basic search of the Help Me Find database is done by keyword. This searches all profiles for any type of match, whether that be a name, description or birth year.

An advanced search is also available. This allows you to narrow down the results based upon a specific field. You can search only in names, only birth year, or many other fields. You can also string search criteria together. For example search only for “John Doe” in name, as well as “Female” in Sex at Birth.

The results from a search provide a name, sex, birth year, ethnic origin and looking for. Selecting a profile will provide a lot more details. A profile can cover everything from distinguishing marks, personal messages, relationship and more. Through the details provided you can establish whether you believe it may be the person you are seeking. Once you have determined that you wish to make contact, you can notify the admin and they will act as a go-between the two parties initially.

Why Search?

Registration can provide a means of making contact. When both parties register and/or search there can be a mutual means of getting in touch. As a free service the only cost to you is time, and the results may prove beneficial to both parties and other family members.
